At the invitation of long-time Foundation supporter Mr Safari Azis, Chairman of the National Organizing Committee (NOC), 21st International Seaweed Symposium (ISS), the Foundation was provided space and time to promote to the 600 international and national delegates the Foundation’s humanitarian efforts throughout the country.
Stressed was the direct relationship between high cataract incidence and coastal fishing / seaweed farming families. In this regard, the NOC Chairman commissioned two dozen paintings depicting seaweed farming, which were sold and / or auctioned at the Symposium and proceeds going to the Foundation.
This unique partnership provided much needed exposure to an international audience. We are grateful to the NOC and its Chair for giving us this unique opportunity.
